dc.description.abstract Telephone sets gained popularity in early 1900’s. It was a very significant invention that allowed people to communicate over long distances. Later in 1980’s, telephone sets were replaced by cordless phones, which worked on RF that would allow the user to use landline without a corded phone in limited range. Landline phones were then replaced by mobile phones, since they do not bound the mobility of a user within a range. Even though landline are cheaper and more reliable, people preferred mobile phone because of the mobility factor. FORNAX is device that can revive the status of a telephone, by enabling a user to access the telephone line from a smartphone, hence enhancing the mobility of a user of landline phone. FORNAX will be working on the recent technologies, to avoid issues of range, noise distortion etc. Making it more reliable than a conventional Cordless phone. FORNAX will have a built-in intercom system, which will provide users free intercom calling with-in the Wi-Fi range. FORNAX will register 7 to 10 users at time, so multiple people can access the landline. The device is installed with a smart GUI, which enables the user to set-up the device. en_US
