Abstract:
Humans can produce sound waves in the range from 300-3400 Hz. These waves are capable of vibrating nearby objects, which can be converted into audio signal by means of an audio device. This conversion from vibration or movement to audio can be accomplished by using a “Laser Listening Device. This device uses a receiver to receive reflecting laser light from vibrating surface. The reflection of laser will deflect as vibrations will occur at random places on vibrating surface. Now receiver can detect these vibrations caused by audio signal with the help of deflecting laser. The signal can then be amplified and output as audio. Through this process the laser listening device effectively reproduces the audio that induced the object's vibrations. The laser listening device is capable of reproducing audio detected from a vibrating surface with relatively high accuracy.
