dc.description.abstract The basic aim of the thesis is to model the valve flow and optimize the same for high volumetric efficiency and reduced pumping losses. The thesis under covers the detailed study of valve motion and cam designing. MATLAB is used as modeling tool to model the intake and exhaust valve flow. The cam profiles used for opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves respectively are based upon the experimental data. A detailed study of the effects of the valve motion on engine parameters is also included and is explained using appropriate figures and graphs. The thesis is a complete package to understand the operation of engine’s intake and exhaust strokes en_US
