Impact Analysis of Speed Calming Devices in Nowshera and Mardan

Abstract

The reason of this project is to highlight the issues with respect to establishment of speed calming devices in general area of Mardan and Nowshera. The issue is that no comprehensive examination of the impacts of the traffic calming devices had been done already. Without this information, it is exceptionally difficult to set up any rule or appropriate measures with respect to establishment of speed calming devices. The research was carried out to reply few research questions: 1) What are the current practices of speed calming devices within the research area ?2) What rules and standard exist within the area for establishment of these gadgets?3)What are the reasonable measures for the execution of speed calming devices? The data obtained from literature review is utilized to compare pertinence and application to research area. We did field overviews and survey studies in area Mardan and Nowshera to assess the current condition of traffic calming devices and to know the general perception of people about devices. I also conducted survey of Rescue1122 stations of Mardan City. The major discoveries of this research are: 1) Notable variations are found within the usage ,traffic calming devices are not developed concurring to standard measurements. 2) Controls with respect to designs, development and installation of traffic calming devices are established at the local level. 3) Considerable measures are for the installation of traffic calming devices.The lesson is learned from area Nowshera and Mardan that it is necessary for the government to provide regulations and policy for the selection of best designs placement,and installation of traffic calming devices.
