Abstract:
Infrastructure is the backbone of a country’s development and it has a very high budget requirement. Pakistan is a third world country with limited resources and budget. Economic condition of Pakistan is very serious, and it needs proper attention. In this scenario budget allocation is very important. Pakistan spends billions of moneys on roads, highways and bridges construction. Roads are very important in economic development of Pakistan as they provide access to people and freight to reach their work places and target areas. In addition, roads also contribute in the growth and development of economy and provide the important social benefits. Roads are also necessary for the growth and development of a nation. Roads also helps us to fight the poverty by providing us the access to health, education, employment and social services. A good infrastructure is the insurance for tourism industry. In this project the aim is to come up with an optimized design of roads in Pakistan to counter the economic crises without compromising the quality and durability of roads. In addition, the existing patterns of Pakistani roadway designs will be analyzed. This will help in determining the loopholes of the design and to provide them with recommendations for future design considerations. Moreover, the construction practices will also be reviewed, and adequate feedback will be provided to respective construction departments for improvements.
