Abstract:
This research presents a systematic analysis of Rescue 1122 phone calls made in the Greater Rawalpindi Islamabad Area (GIRA) after a traffic collision. The data covers all phone calls received from July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019. A total of 10,115 phone calls were recorded for which ambulances were dispatched. The data included details about the timing and date of the call, description of the location of the collision, the health facility where the injured were transported, the number of individuals, vehicles, and others involved, types of injuries and fatalities, and an assessment of the cause of the incident. Of interest is the additional variable documenting the response time that accounted for the time elapsed between the receipt of the call and the arrival of ambulances at the incident destination.
