Analyzing the Quantification of Pavement Rehabilitation Quality

Abstract

Due to lack of understanding and awareness, quality of pavement rehabilitation and pavements in general is still in developing stage. There is an immediate need for implementation of quality evaluation method which can act as a tool for final assessment of quality achieved from pavement rehabilitation practices. The first phase of this research is focused on analyzing availability of national and international methods for quantification of quality and their use to measure the level of quality for construction and other fields as well. Assessment of the suitable methods for applicability in Pakistan and analysis of already available procedures, if any, was done through detailed study of literature. Questionnaire survey (based on data of 113 respondents) has been used to assess the level of conformance for quality in pavement rehabilitation in Pakistan and synthesizing the factors that significantly impact the quality of pavement rehabilitation.
