Abstract:
In this study, dehydration of hydrazine hydrate is carried out by pervaporation technique. For this purpose, cellulose acetate membranes are synthesized with different formulations. Dehydration experiments were carried out by using a Pervaporation test cell. The cell consists of feed pump, flow meters, a condenser, vacuum pump, trap for vacuum pump, receiver flask, feed tank, heating system to heat the feed and temperature controller. Dehydration experiments were conducted by varying pressures on the downstream side. Permeability and selectivity of the membrane was measured by keeping the system temperature constant for all the experiments. Moreover, fabricated membranes were characterized by using SEM, FT-IR, XRD and TG/DTA.
