dc.description.abstract Karakoram Highway lies in high-risk zones of Himalayan- Karakoram ranges that expose the CPEC to geotechnical distress, slope failure, rock fall and earthquakes. Jijal, which is one of the chronic landslides, is one of the reasons for local economic instability. On and off the landslide takes place blocking the Karakoram Highway. The research was undertaken to characterize the slope material, study the causal factors and analyze the factor of safety. The research involved geotechnical investigation including field and laboratory testing along with the geophysical investigation to evaluate the nature of stratum. The study also includes the application of GIS to study Geological and Hydrological conditions of the site. The research aims to propose the solution basing on the field observation, literature review and analysis carried out using UDEC. en_US
