dc.description.abstract |
The report covers the aspects of the design and fabrication of a portable plasma CNC machine.
CNC machines are generally non-portable and very expensive. We aim to fabricate a very
portable yet fairly accurate (accuracy about 0.1mm) plasma CNC machine that is adequately
cost-effective too. This involved an extensive literature review as well as profound analysis to
opt for the most suitable design that fits all our needs. We also aim to inculcate the Torch
Height Control (THC) to automate the vertical axis of the plasma machine. The control of the
machine through suitable software was also included in the scope of this project. |
