Abstract:
The research work will focus on the design of Photovoltaic Cell Testing Chamber. The Testing Chamber should be insulated from outside environment. The three parameters should be generated in inside testing chamber.i.e. Pressure, Humidity, Temperature. The testing chamber should be vibration free and dust free from outside environment. The testing chamber is called environmental testing chamber because controlled environmental conditions will be generated inside chamber. We should also identify the requisite materials for chamber design according to our require characteristics. We made 3D modeling and made also assembly of chamber by using PRO-ENGINEER WILDFIRE 5.0 software. We can use all 3D models to manufacturing from CNC MACHINES. The complex component of chamber is the Cold Finger design. The Cold Finger design is made for generating low temperature inside chamber. In this design, liquid Nitrogen will flow inside chamber to maintain low temperature inside chamber. We did all calculations for heat exchanger requirement inside chamber and volume flow of nitrogen require inside testing chamber container.These models can be fabricated by using CNC Milling machine of School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering in CNC Lab. Some components will be purchased from local market like humidity generator, pressurized air tank, heat exchanger, heating elements, sensors & actuators. There is also some electrical work in chamber setup which can be fulfilled by later research work. We should design the chamber for manufacturing.
The research focuses on the design of a testing chamber for photovoltaic cell under known temperature, pressure and humidity conditions inside chamber. The photovoltaic cell shall be tested inside chamber where we artificially arranged controlled environmental conditions. A complicated cold finger design should made to achieve lower temperature inside chamber. The 3D modeling is carried out for all parts of testing chamber in Pro-E Wildfire 5.0 Software. A photodiode shall be used to first find the efficiency of photovoltaic cell. After this, various tests should be performed in chamber to evaluate corrosion impact on photovoltaic cell. Again check efficiency of photovoltaic cell and evaluate how much efficiency will be varied.
