Abstract:
Academic literature is chockfull with researches emphasizing on the need and standing of
communication interactions for effective leadership. However, research devoted to
effective leadership communication and its attributes, is extremely sporadic. Similar is
the case with women leadership and it gets even scanter with Pakistani Women Leaders.
The motivation behind this phenomenological research was to observe the lived
experiences of Pakistani women leaders and cognize the communication used to succeed
in their respective fields. Social Cognitive theory by Albert Bandura was the theoretical
framework guiding this research. Five recognized women from different social fields
were interviewed; Justice Nasira Iqbal, Dr. Shameem Zaidi, Massarat Misbah, Roshaneh
Zafar and Puruesh Chaudhry. This research set out to highlight the important aspects that
make leadership communication effective. Four themes were noted from this research;
Communication that was trust building; Trust Development, Motivational; Actuate and
Incentivize, Self-aware; Self Awareness and Self Actualization and Adaptive;
Appropriateness.
