dc.description.abstract For a country like Pakistan solar renewable energy initiatives and development is difficult due to large number of barriers involved. These barrier-based decisions will influence the guidelines and strategies’ formulation to encourage renewable energy. The present research work pioneers in analyzing Solar Renewable Energy development in building sector and barriers to its implementation in current situation. Fuzzy- DEMATEL is used to evaluate and categorize barriers to solar renewable energy after experts’ input to deal inherent ambiguity and interrelationship. Sixteen barriers are finalized and Fuzzy-DEMATEL is applied. The findings suggest that “Reduced funds due to public debt B4” and “Lack of social acceptance B11” has significant impacts on, adoption of solar renewable energy. The casual relationships are examined thoroughly. The barriers are analyzed and thorough guidelines for improvement of energy sector and removal of the selected barriers is focused. Energy sector policy making decisions will be helped through this research and improve strategies for implementation of solar renewable energy in Pakistan. en_US
