Abstract:
expansion of modern building sectors causes in the rise of energy devouring, specifically electrical energy consumption. The architectural expansion in field of industries, institutional buildings, hospitals, and IT parks is the major demand of growing countries like Pakistan. Several organizations have implemented a variety of techniques to reduce energy consumption, including regulating newly constructed buildings to recognize their electrical usage. Modelling and simulation of energy consumption of an industrial building in Sialkot, Pakistan is presented. The Simulation software design builder is employed to evaluate and examine the energy usage of industrial building. All of the viable causes of energy in under study building have been considered in the design and computation. The aspects that involve in building energy functioning and thermal comfort of the inhabitants during winter and summer have been found. Design Builder is employed to analyze the studied building, to calculate the energy usage. Additionally, analysis is being executed to assess entire building yearly thermal performance and retrofit decision making. Then the model is revised by adapting passive techniques using the combination of green roof with green walls and Green Roof with window double glazing to decrease the energy consumption. Furthermore, the techno-economic assessment also performed to estimate costing and payback time for both cases separately.
