dc.description.abstract The acknowledge of pile foundations below adjacent load is typically examined by means of beam- on-nonlinear-Winkler foundation (BNWF) ideal/model framework using varied types of trial-and- error resulting p–y curves and p-multipliers. In exercise, the p -- y curve the conferred by the American petroleum institute ( API ) is the most frequently used for piles in granular soils, although its inadequacies are renowned. The objective of this study is to judge and measure the performance of the BNWF model and to calculate the error within the projected pile response compared to a difficult numerical model. BNWF examines are performed using the 3 sets of p– y curves to measure the reliability of the procedure. The BNWF model findings are compared with the 3D non-linear finite elements (FE) analysis, which are therefore checked through a field load check measurements. The BNWF model which utilizes API p–y curve produces the higher load displacement curve and produces the peak bending moment compared with the results of the FE model, as the empirical p–y curve overvalues rigorousness and undervalues ultimate resistance up to the depth equitant to 4 times the pile diameter. The BNWF model exaggerates the peak bending moment by roughly 20% to 30 % using the each API and the rese curves. The P-multipliers are shown to be sensitive on the p–y curve used as input. These results suppose a desire to develop the updated p–y curves and p- multipliers for the improved prediction of the pile response below the lateral loads en_US
