dc.description.abstract The aim of our project is to recover flare gas and to use it in economical way so keeping in view the environmental aspect as well. Flaring of gas is a common practice in many countries of the world. Although many countries are doing work to lower its effect, still they are not able to find a better way. Gas flaring not only pollutes the environment and effects humans but also possess economic damage to the economy as well. Millions of cubic feet of gas are flared annually which could be utilized in a better way. Many methods have been developed for recovering the gas instead of flaring it. Every method posed its own advantages and disadvantages. The best of them is to recover flare gas by its reforming and converting into Syn gas which can be used for various purposes. Firstly, the flare gas is sweetened to remove unwanted carbon dioxide and Sulphur dioxide. Then it is passed through a heater where its temperature is increased to match reforming temperature. Then this flare gas is treated at 1000C and 3 bar in a reactor where steam reforming is done. This gives a mixture of 𝐻2 and CO. The flare gas recovery by our process is up to 99 percent. en_US
