Abstract:
Manganese oxide Nanowires has been established as a promising electrode material. Manganese oxide (MnO2) nanowires were synthesized using a facile hydrothermal approach followed by annealing treatment. For a comparative study, Manganese oxide (MnO2) and carbon Nano Tubes composite were also synthesized to examine the effect of doping for comparative study. The composition, structure and morphology of the samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochemical performance of the material were examined by cyclic voltammetry (CV), and galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD). MnO2 nanowires exhibit specific capacitance of 1030.55 F g-1 at 1.5 Ag-1, and After 4000 cycles, the specific capacitance of FCNT/MnO2 was still maintained at 80%, which shows excellent cycling stability. The results show that composites had a great influence on the electrochemical properties of the materials. Formation of composite FCNT/MnO2 enhances the electrochemical performance of electrode material. MnO2 is a promising candidate for future energy storage devices.
