Abstract:
DA is a very important neuro modulator, and is involved in brain circuitry mechanism. And also serves as
precursor for other molecules/ hormones like epinephrine etc. It exists as a large cation in blood, its
detection within body is important because its different concentrations are responsible for different daily
routine activities like feelings, hunger pain, emotions. A lot of work is carried out in designing and
fabricating techniques for selective DA detection.
I have synthesized Hf-BDC MOF by simple heating of their salt solutions in glass vials. Composites was
prepared by physio-sorption of Co (acac)3 precursor inside the MOF cavities. Thermal treatment results in
the formation of NPs that are tested for DA detection along with parent materials. Synthesized NPs were
characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, HR-TEM, XPS and sensing applications were carried out with CV,
LSV and DPV. Response was observed in the form of oxidation peak and was observed that peak current
increases with increasing DA concentration. Linear range was observed between 2.5μM-650μM with DPV
while 0.25mM-3.14mM with CV and LSV. LOD calculated to be 18.39nM and LOQ came out as 61.38μM
with electrode sensitivity of 8.34μAcm-2.
