Abstract:
The need for implementation of sustainable practices within the supply chain is on the rise, with global firms, especially in the west, moving towards a more sustainable future, in firms in developing countries would need to adopt such sustainable practices in order to partner with these firms and come up to par with them to foster collaborative relationships and to foster such a culture of sustainability within the domestic environment as well.
In this paper, we will be going over the factors that affect sustainability of supply chain. Taking a view of whether they have a more beneficial effect on sustainability of supply chain management. Through this study, we will be looking at some of the factors that hinder sustainable supply chain management, starting with how Awareness, Length of Contracts, and the government play some kind role in shaping the supply chain sustainability of SMEs, to Elaborate on this, we shall be studying SMEs in Punjab, with respect to sustainability measures and to look further into this dimension of supply chain management, we will be discussing literature on the subject, figuring out how sustainability is viewed in the province, the role of SMEs in this context and we will be looking at the factors that would be involved in all of these processes. The barriers will be discussed further in this study.
