dc.description.abstract This thesis focuses on the design and production of a 6-ton/hr facility for Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (LABSA). The introduction provides an overview of LABSA, highlighting its background and significance in various industries. The purpose and objectives of the thesis are outlined, emphasizing the need for a well-designed production facility. The literature review examines different LABSA production processes, analysing various technologies and methods used in the industry. It also reviews relevant research and studies related to LABSA production facilities, providing a comprehensive understanding of the subject. The methodology section describes the approach used for designing the facility, emphasizing the process design criteria and considerations. An overview of the equipment and unit operations required for LABSA production is provided, setting the foundation for the subsequent sections. The process design section presents a detailed description of the chosen process for LABSA production. It includes design calculations, material and energy balances, and outlines the key unit operations involved in the process. The equipment selection and sizing section discusses the selection and justification of the equipment required for the facility.
