dc.description.abstract All-optical regenerators play a vital role in extending the length of the optical links without performing optical-to-electrical conversion. In this study, we compare our pre viously proposed 2R regenerator with two widely researched all-optical 2R regenerators. The three regenerators are characterized on the basis of extinction ratio, noise rejection, timing jitter, chirp induced and energy yield. It was observed that each regenerator has different characteristics that make it suitable for particular requirements of the optical links. en_US
