dc.description.abstract Social media is a huge hub for multimedia transfer. Many messaging applications have been introduced for transferring multimedia. Most of the data transfer on social media is multimedia and user might get that data multiple times and that data is unwanted data for the users. Despite that, the unwanted data requires an ample storage capacity. It also necessitates large bandwidth while transferring it. Furthermore, it is not convenient for users to store identical multimedia messages multiple times. Therefore, we introduced a new method for reducing data redundancy by assigning unique identifiers for the multimedia on social networks. Each unique data has its own unique identification(UID). Each user has its own logbook. In which all the information will be saved when user received a multimedia data, and logbook also have the UID information against that multimedia will also be saved. In our proposed method UID and logbook will play the main role for reducing data redundancy on social media messaging apps. en_US
