Abstract:
Home IoT devices constitute the greatest part of IoT devices. Smart homes is the
most searched term from among the other IoT networks, and currently it’s
startups are receiving funding worth of billions of dollars. As the number of IoT
devices is exponentially increasing in recent years, number of home IoT devices is
also tremendously increasing. With increasing number of devices, attacks are also
increasing and becoming more advanced over the recent years. Home IoT devices
are usually made without taking proper security measures into consideration
because in that way they involve less hardware and are hence cheaper. There
have been a lot of records in the past where attackers have hacked into home IoT
devices and used them to launch greater attacks. We propose a scheme where all
home IoT devices will be secured using near end to end security approach, where
data from home IoT devices will only be available to user after they provide their
security credentials, thus ensuring confidentiality and authentication of data.
