dc.description.abstract Machining is crucial to the design of components used in every industry. But as the industrial world moves towards sophistication and improves their component design by increasing their surface smoothness, reducing their size and increasing the amount of small components in an area, machining process develops as well. Micro-machining is a result of sophistication of the machining process; removal of small particles of material, in the range of microns or micro meters implies a considerably smooth surface finish as well as the ability to form extremely fine profiles and shapes of a material; this is helpful in the development of MEMS, precise dies, low-friction sliding parts etc. en_US
