dc.description.abstract The development of wireless communication technologies has prepared the path for the Wi-Fi routers, WLAN and wireless links to have improved channel capacity, high data rate, bandwidth and efficiency incorporated by compact size efficient antenna. In recent years, wireless transmission technology has advanced quickly. Wireless local area network (WLAN) and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) capable portable wireless terminal devices, such as cellphones and handheld computers, are in high demand. These include satellite radio, GPS, cell phones, analogue and digital audio broadcasting radio, and short-range communication. Multi-band antennas are necessary for all these applications. Small dipole antennas have very high impedance reactance and low radiation and high loss resistance due to which its challenging to develop electrically small antennas with high radiation efficiency, stable radiation pattern and wide bandwidth due to the fundamental Chu limits. Lately, in this thesis, design and development of electrically small horizontally polarized omnidirectional dual band efficient antenna is proposed, which can be used for Wi-Fi, WiMAX, WLAN, 4G and 5G resonating from 2.23GHz to 2.85GHz, 3GHz to 4.45GHz respectively. The antenna performance was analyzed in terms of matching, radiation pattern, bandwidth, size, and frequency ratio and radiation efficiency. The proposed antenna was fabricated and measured for validation en_US
