dc.description.abstract NUST Business School (NBS) offers an “International Study Tour (IST)” program which is exclusively designed for Executive MBA students. As part of the IST program, students from batch EMBA2k20 availed this exciting opportunity to attend University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The program was conducted from 15th to 18th January 2024 and was led by EMBA program head and Assistant Professor Dr. Fawad Khan. As part of the IST program, several lectures, case study and panel discussions were conducted and workshops on financial database were given by the leading faculty of UoSM. In addition to academics, students got the chance to an understanding of successful businesses across Malaysia. Also participants had the opportunity to connect with faculty experts and professionals having different cultures and perspectives. In line with the vision of the IST program, EMBA students also gained valuable insights into the operations of Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP). PTP is Malaysia’s premier transshipment port which is equipped with all state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and information technology systems. PTP is also said to be Malaysia’s most advance container terminal. Established in 2012, UoSM is the top ranked UK university in Malaysia. UoSM ranks 81st in the world by QS and it offers globally recognized programs in Business, Engineering and Computer Science. In October 2021, UoSM moved to a new campus, located in Eco Galleria, Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The upgraded 150,000 sq. ft. campus is a multi-storey building to accommodate more than 2,000 students Besides academic activities, the trip provided several entertainment opportunities. In leisure hours, participants explored Forest City, LEGOLAND Malaysia, Iskander Puteri Harbor, and several shopping malls like AEON Mall, Paradigm Malls & Johor Bahru City Square. en_US
