Abstract:
Plant-II of FFC Goth Machi is currently utilizing cryogenic separation for recovering hydrogen
from the purge stream. They aim to install another hydrogen recovery unit for their older
plant, Plant I in Mirpur Mathelo. The company plans to install a hydrogen recovery unit in
Plant I and, if feasible, upgrade the recovery unit of Plant II to a more advanced system. They
want us to recommend the most suitable, economical, and efficient process for their facility.
As per the industrial directive, a detailed study has been carried out to propose a suitable
process to recover hydrogen and we have used a Membrane-Cryogenic Hybrid System for the
recovery of hydrogen. This system ensures that a high recovery and purity of hydrogen is
achieved from the purge stream.
Material and Energy Balance, Equipment Design, Simulation, Instrumentation and Process
Control and a comprehensive Economic Analysis has been performed to provide the industry
with a viable process to enhance the overall ammonia production by recovering hydrogen
using Membrane-Cryogenic Hybrid System.
