Abstract:
The growing demand for sustainable energy solutions has spurred a myriad of
innovations in the field of solar technology. This project aims to push the boundaries of
solar water heating efficiency by synergistically integrating cutting-edge components,
namely Fresnel lenses and Parabolic Troughs (CPT), within a meticulously designed
system. The ultimate goal is to harness maximum solar radiation and optimize heat
transfer for enhanced thermal performance.
The incorporation of Fresnel lenses serves as a cornerstone in this solar water heating
endeavor, concentrating sunlight onto evacuated tubes to elevate heat flux. This
concentrated solar energy is further intensified through the implementation of Compound
Parabolic Troughs. Positioned strategically, these troughs ensure that even areas of
evacuated tubes devoid of direct sunlight receive the full benefits of solar irradiance,
maximizing energy absorption.
Crucial to the project's success is a sophisticated solar tracking system driven by a small
stepper motor. This system ensures the precise alignment of the compound parabolic
trough with the sun's trajectory, optimizing solar absorption throughout the day. The
dynamic adaptability to the sun's movement enhances the overall efficiency of the solar
water heater, making it a reliable and robust solution for diverse geographic locations.
As a holistic approach to energy sustainability, the project encompasses additional
considerations. Rigorous insulation practices are implemented to minimize heat losses,
guaranteeing the system's effectiveness. A temperature control system regulates the
thermal output, preventing overheating and ensuring a consistent and safe water
temperature.
