Abstract:
Current study is going to examine the impact of strategic orientation as well as
internal environmental management on environmental performance in the sector
automobile industry of the Pakistan. Supply chain management plays the role of as a
mediator between them. Institutional pressure taken as a moderator in the study. Researcher
want to check the major factors that can affect the environmental performance. For this
purpose, a survey questionnaire was used to collect the data from 480 employees working
in automobile companies in Pakistan. After getting the responses SPSS and AMOS was
used to analyzing the data. The outcome of the study reveals that there is positive
association between strategic orientation and environmental performance. Supply chain
management partially mediated between strategic orientation and environmental
performance as well as between internal environmental management and environmental
performance. All paths show the significant values. Institutional pressure was taken as
moderator also contributes in the study and positively contributes among green supply
chain management and environmental performance. Current study contributes in the
context of literature as Pakistan is a developing country can overcome the environmental
performance issues by dealing strategic orientation and internal environmental
management. This study has practical implication for practitioners, future researchers,
managers and for policy makers.
