Business Project: Visit to University of Southampton Malaysia & PTP Port

Abstract

The study tour to Malaysia, organized by NUST Business School, served as a transformative experience for our group of 19 students, under the thoughtful guidance of Dr. Fawad Khan. Our primary objective was to engage in a business project facilitated by our host institution, the University of Southampton, Malaysia. Over the course of four busy days, we delved deep into the academic landscape of the University of Malaysia, actively participating in lectures that spanned diverse subjects crucial to our understanding of global business dynamics. Furthermore, the fascinating trip to PTP Transshipment Company helped to supplement the theoretical knowledge with practical experience, which was helpful in further analysis. This international excursion can be considered as highly beneficial as it not only gave us a firsthand taste of the foreign university atmosphere but also encouraged active engagement with other foreign students and members of the academic staff. Able to communicate through animated discussions and brainstorming, we crossed cultural divides, fostered friendships beyond nations and expanded our knowledge of the global business environment. We concluded from the study tour with much broader perspectives of international business and the relation of the various global economy systems. While coming back to our classes, we have with us a lot of experiences and ideas that we got while being in Malaysia and we are ready to implement all these experiences in our academic and career endeavors with passion.
