dc.description.abstract Fowl Adenoviruses are very diverse group of pathogens causing diseases like HPS, IBH, and gizzard erosion in wild and domestic birds. It causes huge economic losses in poultry all over the world due to its high pathogenicity. Hexon gene is very important to understand the epidemiological status and genetic relation of FAdV strains. Hexon protein being main and most abundant capsid protein elicit strong immune response. Various vaccines are available for protection against fowl adenovirus. Several detection methods like PCR, HRM curve analysis, AGID test and ELISA etc. are used. Due to high specificity and high sensitivity, ELISA is mainly used for virus detection. In current study efforts were made to make ELISA kit for Pakistani poultry samples of fowl adenovirus. Hexon gene was also isolated from Pakistani sample and protein expressed through that gene was used to coat on ELISA plate for successful detection of virus present in Pakistani poultry samples. This kit will help the farmers to detect virus in their flocks at low costs in easy access and in ecofriendly environment rather than using costly kits available internationally. en_US
