dc.description.abstract | Geotechnical Investigation is almost the key part of every civil engineering project. This investigation is a cumbersome and time consuming job. Sometimes contributes a large sum to the budget of the project and cause increase in the cost and duration of the project. In most of the urban areas geotechnical investigation is done for all of the projects. Due to the importance and crucial nature of this investigation, it is done with great care and frequency. For an area number of boreholes increases with the variation in the soil strata and the importance of the civil engineering structure to be constructed. Most of the times the variation in the strata almost remains the same with slight variations. Keeping that in mind the modern software were used to interpolate the available data of geotechnical testing already done in the Risalpur cantonment area and construct the zonation maps and contours of the geotechnical parameters. These contours can be used to estimate the geotechnical parameters of a particular area up to great accuracy and without any tough job. This will decrease the time and cost of the project, and help engineers to find out the results with more accuracy just from estimation. The accuracy of the result will depend upon the density of the data available. The more the density of the available data the more accurate will be the results. If the data available is not very dense then to improve the results one or two geotechnical investigation should be conducted and the results will be put in to the interpolation software to get the more accurate results | en_US |
