dc.description.abstract |
The telecommunication industry worldwide is undergoing a significant business transformation which is fueled by the changing economic environment coupled with tight competition & depleting dollar revenues. It has now become imperative for the companies to become agile and innovate their business structures and build long term strategic vision keeping in view these market changes.
In Pakistan’s telecommunication market, with the announcement of merger of the two out of the four players, it has become far more challenging to retain business value and meet revenue targets. This is further affected by the depleting dollar revenues owning to significant dollar devaluation which extensively undermines the shareholder’s value.
The purpose of this research project is to provide a detailed analysis and overview of the telecommunication market of Pakistan with in-depth comparison of key performance indicators for each of the companies to assess their market share and build a view of the future state of firms. It also highlights and suggest the necessary transformative changes needed to reorient the business for better revenue capture and improved positioning in the market. The study has been conducted keeping in view the strong hold Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited (PMCL, brand name Jazz) has on the market and the impact of changes in competitive landscape has been analyzed to suggest and devise a long-term strategic vision for the company. |
