Abstract:
This thesis aims to re-define the transit station and activity to help change the transportation
culture of the city. The rapid growth in population of Islamabad with the number of people
traveling increasing every day and the constant growth of the city, the need for public
transportation is growing as well. The need for a transit station which can help transform a
society where travel is dominated by automobiles into public transportation to facilitate the
people of Islamabad and people who are traveling. To facilitate people with mass
transportation and connect people who are traveling from and towards the city.
Architecture should be able to facilitate both people and the vehicles together to develop
cohesive spaces for both. Where vehicles are not only machines which provides transportation
facilities but are objects which creates first experience of the user who are traveling. Spaces
that can provide users with experience of both vehicular and social activity. Places which
connects people and vehicles together. To provide all kinds of transportation facilities of city in
a single zone to create a transit hub for the city. A place which becomes a major land mark for
the city transportation
