Abstract:
Contemporary architectural discourse on narrative studies suggests that a succession of
events or impressions embodied within fiction can be 'read' through the sequencing of
space in a building. Continuing with this line of reasoning, we can further assume that a
building can be 'read' the same way as a sequence of shots in a film or the plot in a book.
This is the course taken by many architects in the field who have based some of their best
works upon the careful construction of a series of events and framed views, creating a
narrative of their own.
