dc.description.abstract A prosthetic is a device designed to allow amputated people to be able to use their limbs again. Human limbs are used for several different functions, and so losing a limb makes a person incapable of performing many key tasks of daily life. Legs are similarly one of the most important parts of one’s body and losing a leg has always meant indefinite dependence on others. But lower limb prosthetics are designed to help with that. We are making a prosthetic of similar nature. It is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) based active configurable knee joint capable of differentiating between different modes of action i.e., different speeds, and stairs. Being an active prosthetic, it is designed to be actuated, but also to outperform a passive one, without an actuator. Therefore, made from a 5-bar linkage to replicate the human gait even passively, our active prosthetic is designed to be a viable solution to an amputee’s problems en_US
