Abstract:
States are primary actors in the international system and survival is the main objective of every state. States are realist in their actions because a state is a rational actor. They are always concerned about their relative power and they are power seeking entities. The ultimate goal of every great power in the international system is to achieve hegemony. Because that’s the only way in which the survival of any state is secured. When a state achieves the status of hegemon she imposes her own rules and system in the entire world which is then followed by other states of the world. Starting from the Westphalian system there have been different world orders in the world and every world power imposed its own values and rules. States always want their system to be dominant in the world. Japan, Great Britain, United States and now China is now on the path towards creating its security order. China wants to create its own security order in Asia Pacific region. China is following the path of previous hegemons in the world. China has made a tremendous uplift to its economy by different kind of projects and enhanced the interdependence of States on China. China has also made itself militarily and technologically advanced to compete with great powers of the World. China is playing Offensive realist strategy in the areas of South China sea and Taiwan. China has huge potential and she wants to shift the balance of power in her own favor in the Asia Pacific region and ultimately in the entire world. US is trying to contain China. This would lead to eventual conflict between US and China which is unavoidable. China wants to Change the system created by United States and bring forward its own system.
