dc.description.abstract The primary objective of the following project was to successfully design and manufacture a 3- Axis Modular CNC Milling Machine. The machine is divided into modules: gantry, z-slide, bed, control box, tool turret, driving mechanism, and calibration and software. The modular design approach, around which the CNC milling machine is built, distinguishes the machine from most present model in the market. Instead of disassembling the entire machine and repairing it, the users would have the freedom of replacing the module on their own. The machine has a precision of 50 micrometer (µm). Compared with manual operation, automated CNC machines have higher and consistent accuracy, higher production speed and efficiency, are cost-effective and easy to use. 3-Axis Modular CNC Milling Machine is expected to have major market potential en_US
