dc.description.abstract This study aims to acquire data from the ECU (Engine Control Unit) of Isuzu (FTS-34) using different techniques and interpreting that data by using MCP2551 IC and finding if the data is coming in Hex form or not. OBD Scanner will be used for the On-Board Diagnosis of vehicle. On Board Diagnosis is a scheme to monitor the real time health of vehicle’s engine using different sensors attached so that any problem/fault in the engine can be diagnosed earlier in order to increase the life of engine. As we know that Isuzu (FTS-34) operates on 24 volts while Defender Jeep on which previous work is already done is a 12 volts’ vehicle. Data collected from ECU of the Isuzu (FTS-34) was in different form than it was acquired from Defender. This study aims to determine how ECM reading of FTS-34 differs from that of the Defender. The purpose of this research is to use the data acquired earlier using MCP2551 to analyze the system. The given study refers to the fabrication of the OBD scanner for the given vehicle that serves the purpose of an interface between the Laptop and the ECU of the vehicle’s engine. The study refers to obtaining the data from the vehicle’s ECU, interpretation of the data and the display output in the form user-friendly GUI based interface. en_US
