dc.description.abstract The three-surface abrasive wear test is widely employed to evaluate the wear resistance of various materials. Our research entails modifications to the traditional three-surface abrasive wear test with the aim of investigating the effect of temperature on the wear rate of carbon steel. We utilized a custom-built apparatus, which facilitated controlling the temperature of the sample material. The abrasion wear tests were executed at different temperatures ranging from room temperature to elevated temperatures, and the wear rate of the carbon steel samples was measured and compared at each temperature. Abrasive wear is a critical factor that significantly impacts the performance and durability of materials in numerous industrial applications. Our test setup comprised a rotating wheel with abrasive particles, which exerted pressure on the carbon steel samples at varying temperatures. The wear rate was evaluated by measuring the mass loss of the samples over time. Our study provides valuable insights into the temperature-dependent abrasive wear characteristics of carbon steel. These insights can be utilized to enhance the performance and durability of carbon steel components in high temperature and high-abrasive environments. en_US
