Abstract:
In this study the eigenvalue buckling analysis of cracked pressure vessels is done using
eight node degenerated elements in the framework of finite element analysis (FEA).
First, the validity and efficiency of the proposed FEA method are examined in
comparison with available results using Linear Buckling Analysis. Subsequently, the
approach is applied to analyze cracked thin cylindrical shells subjected to various
loading conditions, including axial compression, and combined internal pressure and
axial compression. Additionally, the study investigates the effects of various parameters
such as crack length and angle, aspect ratio of the cylinder, and internal pressure on the
buckling behavior.
