Weeds in Pakistan's fields are estimated to cause a loss of up to 36 million tons of crops
every year. This loss is worth about 3 billion US dollars annually. This damage from weeds
is even greater than the harm caused by insects and diseases to crops. Pakistan falls behind
the global average in terms of crop production per unit of land because of outdated farming
techniques. Among these practices, weed control methods used in Pakistani fields are not
only ineffective and slow but also harm the environment. As the world advances, we need
better methods and technologies to sustain our agricultural sector. This project aims to
develop a laser-weeding cartesian robot with user-friendly features that identify the weeds
utilizing machine learning and kill them using a laser, in addition to a robust all-terrain
vehicle equipped with high powered motors, which can overcome the challenges associated
with rough terrain |
