Abstract:
The project introduces the design, fabrication, and analysis of a mixed reality tank driver
simulator. It is done by using 3D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD & SolidWorks) and
potentially finite element analysis tools. Fabrication methods using different manufacturing
processes will be employed to create the physical parts. A Tank driver simulator employing
mixed reality combining virtual environments with physical controls to provide an immersive
training experience for tank drivers. This innovative approach integrates augmented reality (AR)
or virtual reality (VR) with tangible interfaces, replicating the cockpit and controls of a tank
within a simulated environment. Users interact with realistic scenarios, navigating terrain,
responding to obstacles, and executing maneuvers typical of actual battlefield conditions. The
simulator enhances training by enabling drivers to practice operational procedures, improve
situational awareness, and refine decision-making skills in a risk-free setting. Moreover, mixed
reality enhances the fidelity of training by simulating real-world dynamics and environmental
variables, contributing to the readiness and proficiency of tank crews. This abstract highlight
the technological advancements and training benefits of mixed reality driver simulators in
military applications. The aim is to achieve. low maintenance costs, cost effective training
simulator model, maximum driving opportunity for trainees providing better overview of tank
simulator design.
