Use of Polymer/Additives in Design of Flexible Pavement to Improve Strength (to Avoid Rutting)

Abstract

Congestion on roads has always been considered a big problem of developing and modern cities especially big cities. Heavy loads of traffic on loads retard the movement of vehicles on the roads thus causing a administrative problems to handle and organize the traffic on roads and delays. Thus congestion problem directly pose a hindrance in the progress of a city. Therefore these problems should must be dealt with care and solved with intelligence and accuracy keeping in view the technical and economic limitations according to the importance of project. The solution such problems come under the scope of civil engineering. If this problem of congestion is regarding to the congestion at the intersection of few roads, the proposed applicable solution may be widening of roads, placing traffic signals, appointing a sergeant to regulate the flow of traffic, providing an underpass or a flyover or diverging a few routs of traffic coming to the intersection. Any solution which suits the requirements and conditions of site according to available resources can be adopted after analyzing the problem thoroughly. Our study is regarding a similar problem encountered in Peshawar and suggested and recommended solution was two provide a combination of underpasses and flyovers. We have conducted a study to design a flyover which is a part of undergoing project in Peshawar.
