Abstract:
According the World Health Organization, 24.8 million individuals across the world
have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism spectrum disorder is a
neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction,
impaired verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive
behavior. Autistic people around the world make up 1% of the entire world's
population, making them the largest minority in the world. Autism spectrum disorder
is a combination of multiple traits, a combination of which is unique to each individual
on the spectrum. In the past 5 years, through multiple experiments, researchers
have found a link between autism and creativity. This is a major breakthrough, as
this would allow autistic individuals to expand their horizons and explore their
creative potential. This not only will allow them to explore themselves in a creative
capacity but will make them contributing individuals of the society. The creative
enhancement has to begin at the grass root level, in order to achieve this shift. CREO
aims at allowing children from the ages of 2-8 to interact with hexagonal building
blocks which fuels their imagination and through multiple textural and play with the
product it helps them develop their sensory as well as fine motor skills.
