dc.description.abstract The traditional devices used in industry for data acquisition to monitor operational efficiencies are mostly based on SCADA systems which comprises of a network of devices/sensors linked together via RS485 wires, communicating through MODBUS protocol. The data from these sensors is processed by a gateway and then sent to the server by means of Ethernet cables. The issues with the system discussed above is that it is very costly and due to the limitations of the wire as well as just one data acquisition protocol, not all the sensors can be incorporated. We have developed an IOT based generic sensory node which can acquire data from sensors mounted on the job floor machines which provide output in voltage, current or Modbus protocol. Moreover, it is based on wireless networking of nodes using the Radio frequency communication technique. The nodes form a RF network within themselves and act as slaves, parse the data to each other until it arrives at the master node for further processing and uploading to the website. We can use this data further for analysis regarding the maintenance requirements of those machines. We have also developed a shaker table for analysis of the vibrations being generated due to shaft eccentricity and monitoring the power consumption by it. en_US
