In a world where global warming, ozone depletion, increasing carbon emissions and diminishing fossil fuels are imminent problems, renewable energy sources provide a means of producing clean energy with minimal impact on the environment. However, their unreliability due to their dependence on climatic conditions undermines their importance and prompts end-users to continue using the traditional thermal powerplants.
This project aims to design and fabricate a hybrid power generation plant, which will incorporate both the reliability of the fossil fuel-based thermal cycle and the environment-friendliness of the renewable sources. The fossil fuel-based thermal cycle has been added to cover up any shortcomings due to intermittent weather conditions and will only be used sparingly. This will allow the renewable sources to provide clean energy throughout the year. |
