dc.description.abstract The prime aim of this project is to manufacture carbon dioxide through hydrochloric acid of such a purity that can be used in the food and beverage Industry. Currently, hydrochloric acid is produced in an excess amount as a byproduct in Sitara Chemicals Limited. The dumbing of such a copious amount of hydrochloric acid is a big problem as it poses a number of environmental risks and hazards. A scheme to purify the carbon dioxide after its production is suggested, which involves a number of prominent chemical processes. The result is 99.8% pure carbon dioxide in a liquid form, which is stored in cryogenic tanks. This highly pure carbon dioxide is suitable enough to be used in a wide range of applications in the food industry, especially in the carbonation of soft drinks. en_US
