dc.description.abstract A major research domain is focused on the delivery of instructions and medium of instructions in learning process. Language is considered as an important factor in the process of learning, because language is the only source to transfer knowledge to students. The other important factor is instructional games which are now a days a point of interest for many researchers. Many studies showed that the instructional games can be used to improve the quality of education and enhance the learning abilities of students. The study aimed to see the impact of instructional games on motivation and anxiety level of students in government schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan where medium of instruction is English. The medium of instruction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was Urdu before April 2014, but after April 2014 the medium of instruction has been changed to English. This research focused on measuring the effectiveness of instructional games in these schools to improve the learning process on the basis of two measurable variables. One variable is the motivation level of students in English medium Class and the other variable is the anxiety level of students in English medium Classroom. The results showed that the instructional games had a significant effect on students in terms of increase in their motivation level and decrease in anxiety level. This study lays the foundation for future research on the use of instructional games in class to improve the quality of education in Pakistan. en_US
