Abstract:
In this project, Zinc and Cobalt doped Nickel Ferrite and its composite with MWCNTs have been prepared via sol-gel and ultrasonication method. The ferrite sample and composites were characterized by X- Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Raman Spectroscopy to carry out crystal structure, morphological and compositional analysis. SEM Images showed that the ferrite nanoparticles are spherical in shape and the average size is below 100nm. The EDX confirms that all the elements are present according to the desired composition. FTIR and Raman spectroscopy confirms the formation of spinel ferrite. The dielectric properties were studied using impedance spectroscopy. The highest values for dielectric loss, dielectric constant and loss tangent were observed for the composite with 0.75 wt% MWCNTS/ Ferrite nanoparticles. This is explained with the help of Maxwell Webner and Knoop theory. Similarly, the highest shielding effectiveness was also observed for the same sample. The Shielding Effectiveness of -25 dB was achieved at 7.2 GHz and 20 dB at 12GHz.
